In-game time passes when you send bedraggled squads into the depths of different dungeons. That's not just a pun on the expansion's extreme difficulty, either, although there is plenty of that here.įor those new to the game-and perhaps looking at The Crimson Court as an excuse to hop aboard the crazy train- Darkest Dungeon is a brutal turn-based dungeon crawler. It's only been out for 2 months on Xbox so its popularity will surely rise.Platform: Windows (reviewed), Xbox One, PS4ĭarkest Dungeon's first-ever DLC, The Crimson Court, is going to be a hard sell for many players. I'm already looking forward to the Color of Madness DLC and hope they do a bigger budget sequel. It truly is an amazing game though, definitely one of my top three. A lot of Stygian is just making due with what RNG gives you. Hellion sure is useful in DD3, but the Countess had other plans for my Fated, Steady, Slugger so I got it done with a Grave Robber. I loved the Ancestor's Scroll/Map and brought them on almost every run, but messing with the Shambler on Stygian is probably not a risk I'm going to take.

For example, telling someone Ancestor's Musketball/Sun Ring is great for Houndmaster/Arbalest doesn't help anyone if they lose a party in the Cove trying to get them. You also can't tell people a lot of trinket/fight strategies because there's so many combinations. You don't find too many Stygian guides that include the Flagellant because he came out after everyone had already played the base game, but he is pretty involved in Stygian speed runs that people post on Youtube.

I completed Darkest and started Stygian and honestly that's a pretty good guide since it's hard to refute any points.

Your best bet is the reddit subthread, it's pretty active and also has hilarious memes.
